A 4-day Atlas trek in Morocco from Marrakech. Discover the Amizmiz valley and its Berber villages perched in the mountains on the northern High Atlas slopes.
Transfer south towards the Atlas Mountains, passing the Lalla Takerkouste dam and crossing desert plateaus to Tachbibte village, the starting point of our Berber trekking in the Amizmiz Valley. Meet our mule team and begin an easy hike in beautiful natural surroundings. Lunch under olive trees. Continue walking to Ait Zitoune village. (3h30 walk). Overnight in Brahim’s Guesthouse at 1000m.
After breakfast, head to the village of Tizgui with views over the Haouz plain. Tea break with a Berber family. Continue through Ait Ahmad pass, discovering terraced crops and mountainside villages. Picnic en route. Overnight in a lodge. 5h walk.
We hike along the left bank of the Amizmiz wadi to experience local life: farming, herding. Arrival in Imin Tala in the afternoon. Enjoy a hammam and traditional bread-making with our host Fatima. Dinner and overnight in guesthouse.
Enjoy a final morning hike through the gardens and villages of the Angal Valley. Lunch near Amizmiz, then say goodbye to our trekking team and transfer back to Marrakech. Overnight in hotel with breakfast.
